To better meet the diverse installation requirements of global solar tracker projects, GF New Energy Technologies has optimized the cable connection design of its String-powered Tracker Control Unit (TCU).

The latest design update improves installation flexibility by simplifying external cable arrangements and allowing customers to configure connections according to their specific tracker system requirements.

Optimized Connection Design for Easier Integration

In previous versions, the String-powered TCU was equipped with externally extended cables:

  • Positive and negative power cables extended approximately 30cm, with MC4 connectors installed at the cable ends.
  • Motor power cables extended approximately 25cm, with waterproof wire-to-wire connectors.

While this design could meet standard installation requirements, different tracker manufacturers and EPC teams may have their own wiring configurations, cable routing methods, and installation preferences.

To provide greater adaptability, GF has optimized the connection structure.

New Design Improvements

The updated GF-S-V2 TCU adopts a more flexible connection approach:

1. Power Cable Connection Optimization

The external 30 cm positive and negative power cables are removed and replaced with a dedicated connector interface.

This allows customers to select and configure suitable cable solutions based on their own system design and installation requirements.

2. Motor Cable Design Optimization

The motor cables are no longer extended externally from the controller.

This provides a cleaner installation layout and gives customers more freedom when arranging motor connections and cable routing.

Designed for Greater Installation Flexibility

solar tracker projects vary significantly depending on:

  • Tracker structure design
  • Motor configuration
  • Cable routing requirements
  • Installation environment
  • Local engineering practices

A more flexible controller connection design helps customers better integrate the TCU into different tracker platforms without unnecessary cable modifications.

Simplifying Installation, Improving Adaptability

Through continuous product optimization, GF focuses not only on controller performance but also on the practical needs of installation teams and system integrators.

The updated TCU design provides:

✔ More flexible cable configuration
✔ Cleaner system integration
✔ Reduced unnecessary external wiring
✔ Easier adaptation to different tracker designs

Continuous Improvement Based on Customer Needs

At GF New Energy Technologies, product development is driven by real project experience and customer feedback.

By continuously improving mechanical design, electrical interfaces, and software functions, GF aims to provide solar tracker control solutions that are more reliable, adaptable, and easier to deploy worldwide.
