To meet the diverse communication requirements of solar tracker systems worldwide, GF New Energy Technologies is pleased to announce the launch of two communication versions of its Network control unit (NCU) — offering flexible connectivity options for different project environments and customer needs.
The Ethernet-based NCU version connects directly through a network port, enabling high-speed and stable data transmission between the controller and the monitoring platform.
It is ideal for projects equipped with on-site network infrastructure, such as large-scale solar farms with centralized SCADA systems or control rooms.
The second version integrates a DTU (Data Transfer Unit) with a 4G SIM card slot, allowing wireless data communication through mobile networks.
This version offers greater flexibility for remote or rural project sites where wired networks are not available, ensuring real-time data transmission via the GF cloud platform.
Both versions share the same intelligent communication architecture and support Modbus TCP/RTU protocols, which are widely used industrial communication standards.
Modbus RTU works through RS485 serial communication, providing stable and interference-resistant connections between controllers and tracker actuators.
Modbus TCP operates through Ethernet, enabling fast, long-distance, and reliable communication with remote monitoring platforms.
By combining these two protocols, GF’s NCU ensures seamless integration with different tracker systems and data platforms across various project scales.
The NCU automatically monitors its connection status and performs self-reconnection in case of temporary signal loss, maintaining continuous data integrity.
The new dual-version NCU solution allows EPCs and developers to choose the most suitable communication method based on their site conditions and infrastructure.
Whether connected via Ethernet in developed industrial zones or using 4G networks in remote solar projects, GF ensures stable data transmission, fast communication speed, and reliable system control worldwide.
With this upgrade, GF continues to demonstrate its commitment to practical innovation — delivering flexible, reliable, and intelligent control solutions that adapt to every solar project scenario.
